Serbian Owls

My first ever trip to Serbia was made specifically to photograph the Long eared Owl roosts. Every year, Northern Serbia attracts literally thousands of owls that roost in towns and cities across the region. These birds have become quite an attraction, featuring on a number of TV programmes including ‘Cities’ by the BBC. They truly are urban birds, often living side by side with humans. In the UK we are lucky to see a handful in one place; in Serbia an individual tree can hold up to thirty owls!
